A bullet proof vest is constructed from multiple layers of high performance woven material, such as; DuPont Kevlar and Teijin Twaron. Non-woven materials; DSM Dyneema and Allied Signal Spectra are Polyethylene fibre based, these possess different characteristics from Kevlar and Twaron.
