Twist
Combat knives and bayonets are subjected to a twist test
where their resistance to fracture, permanent deformation,
loosening of parts or to detach from the test fixture
are tested to military standard. |

Ballistic
Firing Durability
System 2005 rifle mounted bayonets must be capable of
withstanding
2-5000 rounds at a firing rate of 550-900 rounds per
minute on firing simulator. All mountings must be retained
in position and no blade deformation is permitted. |

Temperature
Extremes
Eickhorn-Solingen Ltd. products are tested in accordance with
NATO standards of operational extremes to -40°C and +
80°C. Within this temperature band all products function
correctly. |

Electrical
Insulation
Eickhorn-Solingen Ltd. products that have been specified or
are equipped with as standard, insulated handles/grips
are designed to withstand
a voltage surge of not less than 1000 Volts. |

Sharpness
Blades are tested throughout production for sharpness
characteristics. |

Colour
proof & material
aging
All non metallic parts are accelerated age tested for
colour stability
and standard NATO IR and UV conformity, |

Impact
Combat knives and bayonets or their blades have to withstand
impact tests and are not allowed to fracture, to have
a permanent deformation, loosen parts or to detach
from the test fixture. |

Corrosion-/NBC-/Fungus-and
chemical resistance
All metals are part corrosion resistant according to
U.S. MIL-STD-171
Salt Spray (Fog) test. Furthermore tests on fungus resistance
in accordance with U.S. MIL-STD 810 and tests on chemical
resistance as listed in U.S. requirements as per TOP
3-2-609 and NBC-resistance in accordance with MTP 8-2-510,
AR 70-60 and AR 70-71 are performed on a regular base
or on request of the customer. |
